Péiyǎng duìshǒu
Training your rivals
Jiàn wěi zài dàxué de yīzuò gōngyù lóu lǐ kāile yījiā shūdiàn,
Jianwei opened a bookstore in an apartment building at the university,
shùnbiàn màidiǎnr wénjù, diànchí, xiǎo rìyòngpǐn děng.
and sold some stationery, batteries, and small daily necessities by the way.
Yī nián duō lái,
Over the past year or so,
suīrán měi jiàn shāngpǐn de lìrùn dōu bìng bù gāo,
although the profit of each product has not been high,
dàn tā chéngxìn jīngyíng, bólì duō xiāo,
he has been operating in good faith and has small profits but quick turnover.
shǐ shūdiàn shēngyì yuè lái yuè hónghuo,
This has made the bookstore business more and more prosperous,
shènzhì chéngwéile méitǐ de cǎifǎng duìxiàng.
and has even become the target of media interviews.
Zhège dàxué lǐ lìngwài hái yǒu sānjiā shūdiàn,
There are three other bookstores in this university.
yóuyú shòudàole jiàn wěi shūdiàn de yǐngxiǎng,
Due to the influence of Jianwei Bookstore,
zhè sānjiā shūdiàn de jīngyíng kōngjiān yuè lái yuè xiǎo,
the operating space of these three bookstores is getting smaller and smaller,
sānjiā de yíngyè é jiā qǐlái hái bùrú tā yījiā gāo.
and the combined turnover of the three is not as high as his store.
Jiàn wěi chéngle zhèlǐ de “shūdiàn lǎodà”.
Jianwei became the "bookstore boss" here.
Zhè shí,
这时,
At this time,
xǔduō qīnpéng hǎoyǒu biàn jiànyì tā gāncuì bǎ lìng sānjiā shūdiàn jǐ kuǎ,
many relatives and friends suggested that he simply squeezed the other three bookstores
lǒngduàn zhège shìchǎng.
to monopolize the market.
Kě Jiànwěi bùdàn méiyǒu qù jǐ kuǎ duìshǒu,
Jianwei not only did not squeeze out his opponents,
fǎn'ér hái jīngcháng bāngzhù sānjiā shūdiàn gǎo yīxiē yíngxiāo huódòng,
but also often helped the three bookstores to carry out some marketing activities.
duìyú yījiā kuàiyào dǎobì de shūdiàn,
For a bookstore that was about to go bankrupt,
tā hái zhǔdòng rèxīn de jiè gěi qí zījīn,
he also took the initiative to lend him funds enthusiastically,
xiǎng bànfǎ ràng tā jìxù jīngyíng xiàqù.
trying to find a way to keep him running.
Yǒurén wèn tā: “Nǐ zěnme zhème shǎ?
Someone asked him: "Why are you so stupid?
Jiù ràng tāmen dǎoméi, bù hǎo ma?!”
Let them be unlucky, okay? ! "
Jiàn wěi shuō,
Jianwei said that
wǒ shì zài bǎochí zhè yī dìqū túshū shìchǎng de “shēngtài pínghéng”.
I am maintaining the "ecological balance" of the book market in this region.
Shāngyè lǐngyù qíshí hé zìránjiè yīyàng,
The business field is actually the same as the natural world.
zìránjiè zhōng de shēngwù, shìdàng yǒu yīxiē “dírén”,
The creatures in the natural world have some "enemies",
huì cùshǐ tāmen shēngzhǎng dé gèng hǎo;
会促使它们生长得更好;
which will promote them to grow better;
tóngyàng de, duìshǒu bìng bù huì fáng'ài wǒ de fǎ zhǎn,
similarly, opponents will not hinder my development,
fǎn'ér huì cùjìn jīngyíng, ràng wǒ huòdé gèng duō lìyì.
but will promote business and allow me to gain more benefits.
Yīgè yuányīn shì zhèyàng néng chuàngzào ràng kèhù yǒu suǒ bǐjiào hé yōu zhòngxuǎn yōu de gòuwù huánjìng,
One reason is that this can create a shopping environment that allows customers to compare and choose the best.
tōngguò bǐjiào,
Through comparison,
xuéshēngmen cái zhīdao wǒ de shūdiàn fúwù hǎo, pǐnzhǒng yōu, jiàgé hélǐ.
students know that my bookstore has good services, excellent varieties, and reasonable prices.
Rúguǒ zhǐyǒu wǒ yījiā shūdiànle,
If there is only my bookstore,
xuéshēngmen méiyǒule bǐjiào,
and the students have no comparison,
jiàgé dìng dé zài dī yě huì rènwéi wǒ de shū jià gāo,
no matter how low the price is, they will think that the price of my book is high.
wàn yī tāmen zìjǐ pǎo dào qítā túshū shìchǎng qù “huò bǐ sānjiā”,
If they go to other book markets to "shop around",
nà wǒ de shēngyì jiù wánle.
then my business will be over.
Hái yǒu yīgè hěn zhòngyào de yuányīn,
Another very important reason is
jiùshì wéichí zhè zhǒng shūdiàn bǎohé de “shēngtài”,
to maintain this saturated "ecology" of bookstores
bìmiǎn gèng duō, gèng qiáng de duìshǒu lái “chāzú”.
and avoid more and stronger opponents to "step in".
Wǒ bǎ qítā sānjiā dōu jǐ kuǎle,
I squeezed the other three down,
bùjiàn dé shì jiàn hǎoshì,
which is not necessarily a good thing,
yīnwèi biérén yī kàn zhème dà de dìfāng zhǐyǒu wǒ yījiā shūdiàn,
because when others saw that this big place is only my own bookstore,
xīn de shūdiàn kěnéng jiù huì chūxiàn,
a new bookstore may appear,
nòng bù hǎo lái yīgè bǐ wǒ gèng qiáng de duìshǒu.
and it may not be possible to have a stronger opponent than me.
Suǒyǐ, wèile bǎochí mùqián zhè zhǒng jīngyíng de “shēngtài pínghéng”,
Therefore, in order to maintain the current "ecological balance" of this kind of operation,
wǒ yào jìxù bǎ duìshǒu péiyǎng hǎo.
I will continue to train my opponents.
